Are you a worthy successor...
Hello everyone,

today I would like to tell you something about the new Jubilation 40.

I wore the fragrance up and down for a few days and tested it thoroughly. Few sprays, many sprays, early in the morning, in the evening and at various events....

455€ is really a lot of money and you have certain expectations.

Here we go:

Before I get to the fragrance itself, I would like to say something about the OVP, bottle and sprayer.
Briefly and concisely about the packaging - typically Amouage classy, chic, high-quality.
About the bottle the same as before ;) , timeless, perfect and anything other than a 10/10 will be difficult.

About the sprayer, I have already said it in certain reviews of Amouage before, on the one hand I am certainly not a FAN of the spray head, in the sense of the structure of it, the possible dosage and the mMn very centric orientation / hardness of the content that arrives quasi ;). Funny wording I know, but when I see Chanel and Dior, for example..., I wonder why such a great house as Amouage can't manage this.

About the fragrance:

The older batches (up to 18) still have this noticeable blackberry and since my Jubilation XXV Man is a really good comparison in this respect, it was never far away for 1:1 testing. (Mine is an older one)

Is it as fruity as the earlier one?

No (!) it's not, it's in the background for the first 20 mins and yes it's there, but it virtually never becomes active. It rounds it off nicely, gives a great progression and a really nice start.

After that?

You notice quite quickly that the new Jubilation 40 is quite similar in structure to an old Jubilation XXV Man and that's a good thing. I have always seen those as the "perfect and gentle and pleasing introduction" and yes, this is also the case with Jubilation 40. Then the mix of incense, leather, woods and spicy notes comes very quickly and we are greeted by the Jubilation XXV Man, only newer, more modern, but just as timeless!
And the end:

I honestly liked it one of the best - I heard Oud for Greatness similarities, among others, that I can't say and feel that way! For me it ends in a soft magic of amber and woody notes. Very well made and implemented.

How do I rate the fragrance = a 9/10!
Durability I would give it a 9 to 9.5 out of 10! The sillage is ok and really really good at the beginning (10min),
then becomes skin tight. However, this is due to the high
concentration Concentration of the case.

A quick word about the sillage and my personal opinion:

On the subject of sillage, after around 2 hours we're talking about a "skin scent" here, but I think that's a good thing!
Why?

I have some "breakers" and I simply can't wear those fragrances on certain occasions because they are too potent and too penetrating for most people. Many of us celebrate such things and to be honest I also like it when my fragrance is strong (making a statement, getting noticed and so on), but there are also moments, for example in the car, train, plane and so on, where you can't wear something like "Triumph". where you shouldn't wear something like Triumph of Bacchus Extrait de Parfum or my old 2017 Carlisle or my Mana, but something subtle, elegant and extremely chic, and that's where Jubilation 40 is really good.

How was it received?

Very, very good so far! As it's quite gentle - people like that more than a crowbar ;)

Very briefly something about Jubilation XXV Man (is essential for the evaluation), I can only honestly advise everyone not to buy a Jubilation XXV Man from 2022, especially the 2023's in this booklet are sooo bad and a rip-off before the Lord! Diluted like Sa* and the performance is very bad!
If you can get your hands on a vintage bottle (light-colored lid without magnetic cap) and the price is halfway ok - then go for it! And I think in 2016 the lids came with a magnetic cap (don't know exactly), if you get this version until 2018 (batch) also grab it and you will love it, after that rather no!
That about the Jubilation XXV Man and now about the Jubilation 40 !
Is it worth the purchase?

This is purely a question of personal taste and the money factor with the 455€ makes me say NO!

Why?

Now the Jubilation XXV Man comes into play again, if you find an old/older bottle, you usually spend less and have more performance. If you are collectors and friends of the house or line, then ok it is NOT A FAKE BUY.

Nevertheless, I would like to recommend it to you (IF YOU LIKE THE DIRECTION)! (It's certainly worth a TEST... and possibly even more! )

And now have a nice day/evening, or whatever you read this review, LG the Benny

Long live the king!
TL;DR: Absolutely worthy flanker to the original. Anyone who likes Jubilation XXV Man will love this one! Slightly better durability, significantly better sillage behind the wearer. Fruitier, sweeter and more opulent than the original.

As I write these lines, this magical aura surrounds me. An aura that I am in awe of. Is it just me or is it the fragrance itself? Even I, who have already smelled hundreds of fragrances, can say with a clear conscience that nothing I have smelled so far smells as opulent, high-quality and special as this masterpiece. Masterpieces, of which Amouage is known to have quite a few in its portfolio, so this treasure from the golden bottle shares my personal number 1 spot with Interlude Black Iris.

The fragrance notes are, as you might expect, very similar to the original. Everything is so harmonious and finely interwoven, nothing stands out directly. The blackberry opening has been slightly intensified and enhanced with blackcurrant, making the opening fruitier and fresher than the original.
Yes, it lasts longer, it also projects a little better, but where it really blossoms is in the sillage it draws behind the wearer. A beautifully complex, fruity-sweet, woody-honeyed veil paired with incense, resins, musk, rose and cinnamon.
I was worried beforehand that the lack of honey would bother me, but the note of broom in combination with the resins and bay rum is a worthy and absolutely fitting substitute.

Jubilation 40 exceeded my expectations by far: I had expected a "louder" Jubilation XXV, but this extrait has its very own touch, that je-ne-sais-quoi, which honestly makes it smell even more premium and special than the original. An upgrade, if you like.

To sum up, I can say that the effort and money spent on this work of art was worth it for me and it immediately brings a smile and a smile to my face every time I wear it.

Thank you Amouage for this worthy flanker. Jubilation 40 is really something special and very special in every positive way imaginable.

Like a jubilation that immediately comes to mind, I hope Amouage never discontinues the Jubilation range: Long live the king!

Jubilation 40 - childlike royal security
For me, Jubilation 40 achieves something that the normal perfume has only just begun to do, if at all: it brings back my wonderful childhood. When perfume achieves something like that, it's always something special.

I can say that I had a wonderful childhood with parents who always gave me an adventure and a feeling of unconditional love, safety and security. I haven't had it easy in recent years - this isn't meant to be a therapy session - but the memories of my childhood have always been an anchor.
One particularly strong and beautiful memory is my parents' garden. They had currants and blackberries there, which fascinated me. Their sour bitterness when they are unripe and their black, purple, sweet juice when they are ripe.
When I spray on Jubilation, I am briefly a little boy in an ideal world, brimming with security and safety. It is with this feeling that I wear this perfume, which accompanies me throughout the day. The oriental notes, especially the myrrh, make me feel like the son of a sultan in a garden full of delicious berries. Some people have the royal image of a sultan with normal Jubilation. I (unfortunately) never got that, but I did with Jubilation 40.

The perfume is very similar to the normal Jubilation, but for me the fruity notes and honey sweetness clearly predominate. There is also wood and resin. It is also darker and smokier. Jubilation 40 remains very linear, which I personally like very much in this case, but I can perceive the berry fruit, the wood, the myrrh and the honey better and in a more differentiated way than with the regular Jubilation. The regular one is more mixed. I also like changeable fragrances, but here I want the sweet blackberry around me all the time.
The longevity is fierce on my skin, as is the silage. I still had the scent on my neck the next morning. It stays on the sweater forever. Unfortunately, my normal one is very weak in both respects, which is why I've been turning to other fragrances recently. In future, I will opt for Jubilation 40 more often.

For me, the perfume is an undisputed masterpiece and one of my absolute favorites for personal reasons.

Can perfection be improved? Unfortunately no
Sorry for the sober review, the disappointment leaves me with too little imagination right now.
Jubilation xxv is one of my top 5 fragrances of all time. I love it, I could sit in it, drink it, inject it intravenously. If I have anything to complain about, it's the longevity on my skin.
I had hoped that this last point would be settled with the 40 version. It largely is. But at what price?
The DNA is unmistakably Jubilation. But for me, the top note smells as if rotten wood has been added. I thought there was something wrong with my nose, but my wife confirmed my impression.
As it progresses, it resembles its older brother, although it is noticeably sweeter. And therein lies the problem. After about two hours, you can hardly smell anything other than sweetness.
I hope it develops better on your skin, for me it is a big disappointment after the long wait.

A fleeting day in late summer
The fine crunching of small pebbles on dry ground breaks the silence,
An afternoon in late summer, the monotonous chirping of a cricket.

Velvet-covered shoes of a sultan make their way through landscaped gardens,
A breeze, warm and dry, rides into the scholar's fine clothes.

Rosemary and davana cones also bend in the warm wind,
A whiff of menthol and ethereal takes his breath away for a moment.

Past green hedges of broom, so beautifully fragrant in the sun,
Towards orange trees, plump fruit, sweet scent - what a delight!
Not far from here, the sultan plucks plump blackberries from the hedge,
Currants juicy, sour, taste delicious, that he licks his lips.

His fingers brush cinnamon-dusted rose petals, delicate and very fragile,
It also smells of cloves and celery, subtle and not very much.

Bushes of thick laurel leaves line the edge of the grove,
He smiles smugly, for this land is all his.

Deeper into the weave of resins, woods, mosses.
Yellow gold drips from treetops onto the delicate leaves of bony rock roses.

A chapel from long ago stands in the middle of the clearing,
Fine wafts of incense and myrrh waft from this direction.

The Sultan takes a seat in front of the chapel, sunbeams tickling his face,
And so a fleeting late summer day passes, fades and the story ends.

Fin.

What a beautiful, fragile and volatile elixir Amouage has created here! The latest creation in the Exceptional Extraits range is truly a gift from or for kings. Perfectly balanced, complexly interwoven, sensual, powerful and yet at the same time delicate and as fragile and fleeting as life itself. A dry, herbaceous opening slowly blurs with light, smoky notes of labdanum, then brightens up again with splashes of sweet oranges and dark berries before it becomes a little greener again with a leap into the gorse hedge. Delicate rose petals and a pinch of fine cinnamon flash through the tangle of gorse hedges, before the well-dosed cloves and celery seeds warm the nose. Gradually, cool wafts of incense envelop the senses and prepare everything for the grand finale. A potpourri of golden resins, subtle incense, the finest woods and delicate mosses immerse you in a beautiful grove of venerable old trees. And after the final fanfare of the finale sounds, the curtain falls, leaving the observer with the picturesque impressions of this fragrance experience and lingering as a beautiful yet fleeting memory.

Opens camphorous, think J25 + SL "Fille en Aiguilles". Dries boozy, think fermented J25. Performance is A HUGE DUD - as bad as current J25.

A stunning fragrance. Monstrous longevity with a more moderate sillage. Anyone claiming bad performance is trolling or needs to see an ENT

An oilier, juicier, sweeter, more camphoraceous Jubi XXV. Not as balanced or well blended. Still great.
