Unfortunately, those around me, including me, didn't think it was that great :-(
So far, men's fragrances from Kenzo have gone down rather well with me. However, the fact that one of them also failed in my environment and at work was new to me. Unfortunately, this is what happened with Kenzo Homme Santal Marin. My colleague at work even found it quite awful... At least the longevity was quite good at around 8 hours and the sillage was still causing rather negative compliments even after hours.
The top note starts off very fresh, maritime but also peppery. The heart note offers an aroma that I find very difficult to interpret myself...and it bothers me a lot! It could be something along the lines of curdled milk. Even after hours, this smell annoys me. There are also floral hints of lavender. The base is quite woody and even slightly smoky thanks to guaiac wood. I can still detect a sweet and vanilla aroma in the background.
I'm really not a fan of reviewing a fragrance negatively, as I appreciate this variety of perfumes so much. But the Kenzo Homme Santal Marin definitely failed for me. Nevertheless, I would like to thank Sam for bottling it.
