More is not possible...
I was able to get hold of a 2ml original sample from Maison Crivelli. I don't know if the samples differ much from the big bottle, because : I can't understand how you can't give a 10/10 for durability and sillage.

I would not give the shelf life in hours, but in days. The sillage 10m +++.

What is that? I've never experienced anything like it. How can something smell so strong and for so long. I had a spritz on my wrist and my bracelet still smells 3 weeks later as if I had just sprayed it on! Absolute madness.

Now comes my big BUT: I can also only perceive 2 notes. Everything else in the fragrance pyramid is virtually non-existent for me. The 2 notes are leather and bonfire made from the best aromatic firewood. And that's it already. Who wants to smell like a brand new leather jacket that has been aired out by a campfire at 10m for several days?
I think the fragrance itself is much, much, much too "masculine". Ragnar Lodbrock would smell like a bouquet of flowers next to this thing.

A little addendum: If I apply just 2 spritzes ofCHEN to my arms and try to wash it off after 5 minutes under running water, the other notes come through easily and the intensity becomes bearable without throwing a tree trunk in the face of everyone I meet that day.

Maybe if I was a cowboy
Oud Stallion, relative to the previous release Oud Maracujá, opens more animalic, more aggressive, and it feels like more barnyardy. Just like with Maracuja, there's no actual oud in the scent pyramid - they're using wood & patchouli to offer up that vibe. The main thing you can notice incorporated into the profile is an accord that I can best describe as "oily", like the hydrocarbon vibes you smell in Cuirs or "Join The Club - Don | XerJoff".

Up-close, the blend is a little bit balanced out - there is a pretty notable blend of saffron and cardamom, with the saffron offering mild rubbery tones the same way it does in scents like "The Secret Collection - Scirocco | Moresque". Drydown tones might also evoke comparisons to scents like Blessed Baraka. The rose is invisible for the first ~10 minutes, becomes minimal after that - I wouldn't say the rose is a driving force in this scent by any means.

I think the biggest letdown of this scent comes from the fact that the leather & cedar (fake oud) tones completely overwhelm the scent, and the sweet spices can only do so much to bail it out. That's kind-of where I got the title of this review - the core vibe of the scent is like a leather saddle you put on your horse in the Texas oil country.

Sillage is better than Maracuja's by a point. I came back to revise the review as the scent really did die off just as quick as Maracuja, to the point where I'd say this is weaker in the 10 hour range. Overall, it's a solid release if you want something uber masculine to make a statement with - I'm just not the target demographic.

Not a monster
"Oud Stallion" shows the image of standing around a smoky fire in a previously wind-tanned jacket so that you don't freeze until you fall over and sleep next to the coking logs to smell heavenly the next day, unfortunately not as much as I initially hoped after reading the descriptions here.

Instead, he draws ambiguous pictures. There are some of archaic rawness, but also clear equestrian farm vibes.

I can smell the entrance area straight away: rotten half-timbered beams, stone floor, dirty straw from the boots of all those who have just mucked out. A whiff of iron, the tack room...
Clear smoke from a merry potato fire drifts in through the (stone) coal cellar window - a mundane place where, however, not at all mundane things happen, as all those who know a real "pony farm" probably know.

What bothers me a little bit about Oud Stallion is that little bit (!) too much potato. - I don't know where this aroma comes from, but you immediately have the delicious, black ball in the fire, which you scrape out with a branch and then peel off with increasingly crusty fingers to eat it unsalted...
Yes, yes, "Oud Stallion" is not a mega new scent experience of the science fiction kind, no, it smells familiar. - Quintessentially familiar.

But real horses remain invisible. With imagination, you can only smell the hoof tar a little. For me, the name rather indicates that you can celebrate masculine aspects of any kind with it. And just as tongue-in-cheek as the associative term "stallion" in the name promises.

All genders who want to can emphasize their respective sides and aspects of masculinity with it, or even bring them to the fore, because it is as unisex as anything: the archaic rawness of fire, earth and wind makes it superior to the occasional pigeonholing of us little people.
In other words: pomade, shower gel, aftershave (laugh) and even barbershop are completely absent - just like fruits or flowers, which, if they tried very hard, could pull it a little bit to the feminine side instead. That's why it's suitable for all genders - unless you're dealing with someone who wants to lean particularly far to the feminine side.

But Oud Stallion could also be recommended to them as an experimental foray into the world of unisex fragrances. "Oud Stallion" takes them along with understanding without immediately becoming a testosterone bomb.
It is not the monster (or even the child scare) that it is sometimes described as. - Unfortunately, I'd like to say: in addition to monstrosity of any kind, he also lacks monster-like durability ^^. Really now, no crap, we compared it. The stuff is actually gone in no time at all compared to really long-lasting fragrances.

The moderate, pleasant drydown remains on clothing for quite a long time, however, so that - attention, I'll try to come up with a final sentence - the coked potato that comes through from time to time and the price, which is just short of decadent, are the only real arguments against this beautiful fragrance.

Standing is my name.
Now that I have also sniff Oud stallion I can confidently state that of the Crivelli’s extracts the most structured and difficult is the Patch. Oud stallion, more than an oud, I would place it among the suedes. There's nothing animalic about it - or at least that's how I understand animalic scents. You can smell the oud at the opening, a bit of an acrid sensation in the throat, pungent. Then it softens immediately, I dare say almost creamy. Which makes me appreciate it a lot. The predominant note on my nose is cardamom (which I love), saffron and osmanthus. I can't distinguish the rest. Nice nice. It is probable that with the name they wanted to evoke the elegance of the stallion as a breed rather than its strength. I don't see much coherence, but it depends on the idea they started from.

Also zusammengefasst:

-ein absoluter Statement Duft
- dunkel, tief und mysteriös
- extrem sexy
- Komplimentegetter
- universell einsetzbar

Leather/oud accords with a hydrocarbon vibe, aided by the sweet spices (saffron/cardamom) and mild rose. Uber masculine, fall-winter.
