Just a forgetting?
My Amber No. 130
.
Petals swing
In meadows, forest and field
You butterflies sing
From tender amber world.
.
The fragrance is barely felt
Surrounds with light glow
Vanilla' and mandarin
You hardly believe in its being.
.
Then the hours linger
Is often a woe to thee
Then your little nose flickers
A magical happening.

simply joy as a daily companion
And another fragrance from Yves Rocher; sometimes I just can't get my nose full enough:
I apologize for my one-sidedness.
But "Voile d'Ambre" from the "Secret d'Essences" series has been accompanying me home from pedicure regularly for several months now.

The Yves Rocher stores have all had to close, but the beauty institute at one of them, where I was a customer for years, has been taken over by a young employee and I am always pleased that her courage to set up her own business has been rewarded with a busy schedule for months: She deserves it and also the flowers I brought her today. I love her kind nature and her meticulous work! Besides, I'm a creature of habit! But as a result, I also sprayed myself with "Voile d'Ambre" every time I was there; I enjoyed this fragrance composition that easily suits so many occasions.
Just today we were talking about it again and - as is often the case - I received the familiar bottle from the customer's toilet with not much more than a fragrant residue, which was actually already in the back of the closet for disposal.
This is despite the fact that I have owned a (no longer full) small bottle of it myself for a few days:
Also a fragrance gift from the aforementioned pharmacy bag from the dear friend from the local authority office.

I like the unagitated beauty of this fragrance, so pleasantly smoky and dark with its opening of well-measured coriander-spiced citrus freshness that makes the bright lights dance behind a curtain of resinous, full-bodied smoke.
How harmoniously the resins listed in the pyramid were matched: A little bit scratchy and therefore stimulating the senses, brushing them a little "against the grain", although it strikes me that opoponax was probably also a "fashionable fragrance note" for a while (like pink pepper, for example):
Does this have anything to do with the supposedly stimulating effect of the virility of this aromatic incense? (There is a myth that this is the case!)
Although this resin also has a dual effect in aromatherapy:
Like lavender, it is both relaxing and stimulating, energizing.
Yes, nature is a contradiction in terms; we should listen to it more often.
But back to "Voile d'Ambre":
Its veil of smoke envelops a rich, languid and creamy-warm vanilla, in whose wake Aphrodite, the goddess of love, my "vanilla goddess", is of course not far away.
Eroticism was awakened here in a tasteful dosage, which is also represented by slightly animalistic sandalwood accords and a wonderfully earthy dark golden-brown patchouli addition. - Oh yes!

So here the senses are awakened and seduced in a pleasing way.
And why not? Let's be honest: how boring would life be without a little desire and curiosity about what's yet to come, or at least what could still come?
"Voile d'Ambre" is a fragrance creation that is suitable for many occasions; it can be worn every day without causing a stir and yet makes you feel good and has a charming presence.

Sillage and longevity are not exceptional, but sufficient; the fragrance has time to develop and delight in all its facets before quietly and discreetly withdrawing.

I use the word "joy" here in many variations and am now stumbling over it as I write:
Yes, "Voile d'Ambre" spreads a feeling of joy: so completely without "ifs and buts"!
A little spicy freshness, a generous, rich veil of smoke and eroticizing base fragrance components: What more could I want? This is simply a joy!
The "big ambre fragrances" (even my beloved "Ambre Fétiche") are sometimes just too rich, too "big"; then it's time for "Voile Ambre" by Yves Rocher.
A fragrance that will soon be just a memory, like many of its predecessors, and that we must/should take good care of: We don't know what will follow!
One more reason to enjoy "Voile d'Ambre" now.
Good evening, dear ones!

Cozy
The Italian green mandarin shows itself clearly in the prelude, but for my taste a little too briefly. Immediately it goes over to the cardamom: slightly powdery-spicy. I sniff it quite long. Over the course of about 3 hours, the scent becomes balsamic, powdery, spicy, sweetish, in other words, cozy. I have to search intensively for a smoky note with my nose on my skin, but there is something there. In the finish, it is vanilllig-sweetlich and very delicately spicy, so patchouli and sandalwood are rather hints.

The shelf life is good with me. Applied in the evening about 22:00, I can perceive the next morning about 7:30 still a vanilligen breath. The radiance, however, is quite mau. Apart from the first 5 - 10 minutes, "Voile d'Ambre" quickly becomes skin tight. Whether you find that good or bad, of course, is a matter of taste, for me it might like to be a little more.

As a fragrance twin of "Shalimar" I would not call VdA now, S is clearly smokier, but it goes already in this direction. For all those who even the EdT or a L'Eau of "Shalimar is still too much, "Voile d'Ambre" would possibly be an alternative.

Remains for me to note that I have chosen the wrong season for the test, I would now rather have something fresher :-), but that comes from when you reach blindly into the box.

Greetings and thanks to ChaiTee

Satsuma & Sweet Myrrh
A traditional composition presented with a transparent, modern twist, the amber here is a pleasant surprise in that the prime note of the accord is smooth opopanax instead of the often rougher benzoin. Another eye-opener is a bright, honeyed citrus closer in character to satsuma than the listed mandarin. This sunny sweetness would overcome the entire composition if not for being perfectly balanced and complimented by creamy, quality vanille. This harmonious duet is a core feature from first spray into drydown, only surrendering the stage well into the mellow plush of base notes. Sandalwood, ever the mediator, is appreciated only for how it tames and anchors. The frankincense is pale, pure grade resin burning cleanly.
Overall, a superbly blended and original execution of a popular accord.

Grandma plush
In the estate of my deceased aunt in law I found this fragrance new and originally packed. Was also stored cool and dark. I was looking forward to this fragrance experience, because I missed the action when the fragrance was available. Subsequent scent did not appeal to me . The beginning was quite nice and spicy with cardamom. But then goes on with incense, myrrh and that was it. Together a terrible plörre. Synthetic and disharmonic. The finish then, with vanilla, sandalwood and patchouli, can no longer be described as fragrance but as stench. Then there were added notes that reminded of sour sweat or unventilated clothes. No, I do not want to smell like that. Shelf life of about 5 hours. Now I offered the scent of my 92-year-old aunt to test. Aunt was horrified and said she was still too young for such a granny smell :) Nothing would be right in front and back. Now my aunt was in the 70's my big example in terms of cosmetics and I still respect her opinion
