Diet Tobacco Vanille

First of all, I have to say, the scent itself is beautiful. However, I'm still very disappointed by this perfume. To sum it up: this is like a diet version of Tobacco Vanille. If Jo Malone makes a remix of Tobacco Vanille, this would be it lol. This to me is basically tobacco and pencil shavings (Iso-E Super).

Admittedly, I LOVE woody perfumes and have many great ones in my collection. From dry wood, green wood, to heavy wood, I love them all (well, except oud... I can't stand oud). So I guess I just had too high of expectation?

To my nose, the cedar and other woods here only exist mostly as top notes. It was there... and then poof! gone in 15 minutes. The tobacco note is stronger and actually lingers the whole time.

But what made me even more disappointed is, the performance is like watered-down Tobacco Vanille! Longevity is below average, and sillage is poor. Normally if I spray on my clothes, perfumes would perform better. But not this one... it's just as shit. And for that price??? Not in this economy!

Soothing & Cozy

Bo introduces itself with a spicy brightness, which quickly mellows to soothing incense. The incense is airy and ethereal to my nose, wafting around a few feet away rather than being sniffed straight from the cone or smelling like burning wood. There is wood in Bo, but it's closer to the dry sharpness of a cedar chest than a bonfire, with little hints of the lemony brightness of pine. When the incense burns off, though, you're left with a delicious, toasted vanilla; delicious, but not too food-like, there's still a woodiness grounding it. Bo cocoons you in a serene way. It's a warm hug from your most spiritual friend, or a meditation retreat in the woods with a glass of hot vanilla milk. It's lovely.

Peace and quiet far away from civilization

Somewhere between the forests of Canada and the temples of Bali lies this one spa hotel. Built from cedar wood, it is dedicated to modern relaxation. No frills. Meditative. Here I can finally breathe.

Bo fits the brand perfectly. All of Liis' fragrances that I have had the pleasure of testing so far are united by their modern inspiration, their use of synthetics, the character of a sophisticated skin fragrance and their successful transport of emotions.

Bo is inspired by a Californian artist's enclave on the coast. Without the influence of evil civilization. Pure nature.

The fragrance is almost completely linear. Creamy woodiness defines the entire fragrance. Cedar and guaiac. Tart. Resins and tobacco. Warm.
In the subtle sillage, the subtle soft smoke is the star. I think of a dry sauna. Of calm breathing. Of closed eyes. Of deep relaxation. Without any ethereal vibes. Far away from civilization.

The vanilla comes out a little more clearly in the drydown. Like an additional emollient, this makes the fragrance even rounder. In comparison to other fragrances in the range, the synthetics are very restrained and the longevity is very good.

The bottle reflects the brand perfectly. Modern. Clear. High quality. Pure tranquillity.

Anyone looking for a subtly smoky skin fragrance with a focus on woodiness will be happy with Bo.
