Unique and enjoyable

This definitely won't be for everyone, but I really enjoy it. I tend to enjoy complicated, hodgepodge fragrances though. If you try it, don't even smell it until you're 5 minutes in. The initial opening is rough. It really had me questioning myself until it settled, but once it did, I fell hard.

The sweet citrus fruits and resinous notes are really spectacular together. I would never have thought to pair them together, but it's a great mix. Then the ginger comes in and ties everything together. The citrus and ginger top notes hang around for hours. It's not a typical fleeting top note conglomerate. I'm guessing they lasted about 5 hours on me.

Once the top wears off and it's just the mid and base notes, it loses much of its charm for me, but it's still enjoyable. It becomes a sweet, resinous, tonka heavy fragrance for the last 3-4 hours.

9/10 for uniqueness and scent. A winner for me.

When I first saw the list of this fragrance notes, I was like: WOW, it's gonna be something. I really like and value Liquides Imaginaires as a brand but this one is a fruity disaster. In my opinion, this is not well blended. All I can smell is red orange and pepper. Where are the other notes?! Sorry but this is a big NO for me.

Soul of the heart? A surprising journey

This is my first review on EssenceVitae. Why this fragrance? Because it has kept me busy over the last few days like hardly any other fragrance at the moment.

Thanks to a great article on the homepage, I was quickly hooked. I'm currently drawn to everything to do with grapefruit and blood orange and Pyramid just sounded great. And thanks to a lovely sharing, the fragrance was quickly in the house.

We tested it straight away with great anticipation and the first surprise was there: Âme du Cœurs Opening delivers what it promises! A great interplay of strong blood orange, warm cardamom and spicy pepper that even makes your nose tingle.

I was thrilled and immediately wrote to a friend about how pleasantly surprised I was.

After a few intense noses, the next surprise: a creaminess, probably from the cocoa, spreads and, together with vanilla, tries to capture the spicy notes and embed them mildly. However, they don't quite succeed and this endeavor doesn't really seem harmonious to me.

Aromatic wood is added in the drydown, but... where is the blood orange? Where is the first thing that catches my eye from the bottle and the pyramid? Two hours after spraying it on, I can hardly perceive this component on my skin and what remains is spicy wood.

Disillusionment sets in when the fragrance has completely disappeared after about five hours.

In the days that follow, everything repeats itself very predictably and Âme du Cœurs leaves me somewhat perplexed and disappointed at the end.

The fragrance does not deliver what it promises with its great and impressive opening, has a mediocre longevity and sillage and leaves a soft and spicy wood in the drydown, which is too interchangeable for me and lacks the USP.
