Scented pirate treasures
Such a rich pyramid as in the fragrance "Le Boucanier" shows once again how complex such a composition is:
There are many main and even more smaller and larger secondary paths to reach the rich finale:
Each fragrance note in itself leads a little closer to the goal and completes the whole.
And yet the laws of perfume creation have also been observed here:
We find a citrusy, spicy top note and a tea-based heart note with strong rose geranium and sensual jasmine nuances, embraced by ylang-ylang blossom tendrils, and arrive at a classic base of sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver alongside warm vanilla and silky, woody cedar, all surrounded by dense wafts of amber and incense.
How many stories, how much suffering and tragedy may be contained in these treasures that we encounter, united in a kind of "fragrance vault" A look at all the treasures also traces the routes of the many privateers of the eponymous pirates: Criss-crossing the oceans, they made them unsafe.
You could almost call "Le Boucanier" a "global fragrance".
From the familiar scent of the Mediterranean to the spice-rich Antilles, eastwards to the Indian Ocean and as far as the voyages took them: Nothing was too mundane not to be taken along and finally added harmoniously to the whole.
Fans of strong aromas that constantly create new fragrance impressions will get their money's worth here.
The paths that this composition conjured up on my very cool skin yesterday, as I strolled through citrusy, aromatic, cedar-dusted Hesperides groves around the Mediterranean, no longer appear today.
Suddenly I find myself in the richly spiced air of the Antilles, my nose tingles and tingles - ginger and pepper come to the fore.
But the sensual vanilla also spreads and embraces me warmly and full of creamy fragrance magic.
The pristine humidity of the jungle around the Indian Ocean alternates with the dingy oud-soaked alleyways of port cities, where sinister speakeasies vie for customers with naturally excellent alcohol and valuable cigars - both smuggled goods, of course.
A little "cougar cage" is of course also included; nothing works without a little animalism.
An olfactory world tour of the most diverse aromas has been created here by fragrance pirates; rich, exciting and always new.
Fresh and salty, fruity, floral and even dark, dingy scents.
So far, no two days have been the same when I have worn "Le Boucanier": Fragrance facets alternate and constantly draw new pictures from all these different components.
They have time with this extraordinary longevity, there seems to be no standstill in the fragrance here; at least not on my skin.
But that is known to be a bit special.
It is definitely worth sniffing into the cave of these fragrance pirates.
It would be a shame to be put off by the multitude of fragrances:
In the end, it's the harmonious whole that counts.
In my primary school days, when mathematics was still simply called arithmetic, a teacher once said: "The only important thing is the bottom line; how you get there is irrelevant.
Well, none of the numerous fragrances here are incidental:
"Le Boucanier" is complete, a kind of "fragrance chameleon" and extremely pleasant to wear, even if not exactly everyday.
Curious minds ahead: A fragrance adventure is calling!
