The return of the howling plums
Background: Perfumos send me samples, I then test the perfumes sent without any knowledge and describe my response - that of an inexperienced dilettante.

First impression: I know him! But where from? What follows is protracted brooding and groaning in the roof timbers of the limbic system. Unsuccessful, as is so often the case when you have too little patience with yourself. Remembering doesn't quite work under stress.
Then it rings, a red light comes on in the Fontanella. Spicy, woody, sweet and above all creamy... That's Oud Wood by Tom Ford! Was someone having a joke here and wanted to test my memory? Or is it a dupe?
So let's get the sample case and hand over the designer concoction, which in my opinion never contains even a hint of real oud.
The nose clearly recognizes differences, the blind sample is much creamier and sweeter, Oud Wood seems less plummy and woodier. But minimal. Both could certainly impress the ladies as a gentleman; after all, both fade out the neanderthal aspects of male creation as a perfume of friendliness.
Nungut. Another comment from the 5-year-old expert? "Smells like a comet, so warm.". I never thought of it like that!

Ethereal, spicy and smoky and yet pleasing
In my opinion, Wolf is a pleasantly spicy fragrance with a noticeably ethereal character and a present incense-myrrh mix. It also has a certain green flair.
All in all, the wolf is pleasantly crafted.

The fragrance starts with a beautiful spicy, slightly peppery incense-myrrh mix, paired with subtle plum.
Some may perceive frankincense and myrrh a little later, but for me it is definitely present right from the start.
The wolf also has this certain green, slightly tart "freshness". I don't know if fresh is the right word, but it gives me a very slight impression.

Over time, it becomes more and more "ethereal" and pleasantly resinous. Then a kind of pine comes through. I really like that. There is also some vetiver and frankincense and myrrh are still active.

It gets woodier towards the end.
Yes, I say woodier, even though no wood is listed.
But it is definitely pleasantly woody. This light, pleasantly woody character plays with classic oakmoss here.

The performance is okay.
It could definitely be better, but it is by no means bad.
Relatively close in time, it gets closer and closer to the skin.
