A real "explosion" for the nose... / The opulent and unknown!
Hello everyone,

i would like to say a few words about "Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie | Roja Parfums".

It had been on my list of fragrances I wanted to test for a while, but samples were relatively rare and NEW it was "a bit" too expensive for me and why do I need 100ml ... - my THOUGHT on this.

Almost 2 weeks ago I saw an older batch (2018) here in the forum and it was still a leftover bottle.... , well the end of the song was... seen and bought BLIND. I recommend this to NOBODY and in general really NEVER. But I do....

About the fragrance:

When I was still a silent reader here x years ago, I found it very, very exciting. This mix of the fruity - sparkling with aldehydes and the floral components is very reminiscent of Chanel from back then and in the drydown we have a mix (always fights with itself) of musk (soft and creamy), something green, something woody, a certain spiciness and resinous components.

As you can quickly see, there's a lot going on here and that's not even an understatement or... this does not even begin to do it justice = in other words, there are really some moments where you can "NOT" smell what is now taking the "lead", so to speak.

But I don't see this as a real disadvantage, as there are also linear fragrances such as "Light Blue pour Homme Forever | Dolce & Gabbana", which is virtually the same from the first second to the last. In this respect, I don't want to judge this - in the sense of good or bad, I just wanted to say it.

Another important thing in my opinion:

The fragrance is incredibly dense, noble, truly opulent and pompous and that is exactly why I do NOT see it as a daily use, but it is the fragrance for special (and upscale) occasions. Because if you were to use something like this on a daily basis, I think its CHARM AND MAGIC would evaporate!

I see it as a UNISEX fragrance, without any real tendency. My wife likes to wear it, as do I, which is why it's 50:50

How is it being received?

If you find the (!) occasion then it's really very good. You should also use it very discreetly, as it's a bit of a powerhouse!

If I wasn't really convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!
(It's worth a test!)

Ordinary - Unusual, with that certain extra and the BUT...
Hello everyone,

and at this late hour, I would like to say something about "No. 1 for Men | Clive Christian" .

Today, for my birthday, I bought myself a new one (batch of 22) / gave it to myself as a present. That's why my review today is more about the current versions. If you want to know something about the old ones (you will find this in the text a little further down).

What do we have here?

The fragrance starts fruity and creamy and in the background you can already notice the STAR of the fragrance, the IRIS, which is always present and noticeable. But of course there are moments when this is more the case and certain moments when the iris tends to take a back seat. After the top note, we have a noticeable HIGH of floral notes, thanks to the iris with the rose. And you can tell from the quality here that the raw materials cost a little (!) more. There's always something spicy in the background of the fragrance, but it's never overpowering, but it's always there - I like it that way!

And finally, we have a mix of something creamy, something soft, something subtly sweet and something woody and, as I said, the iris, which is also present here. Generally speaking, as I always say, the fragrances of the house have a noticeable "grown-up" touch. Of course, you can be 20 and wear it, but I see it more for "seasoned men" who have already seen and experienced something from 30 years to 60 years (+).

Are you the No.1 and the best of CC?

It is very ungrateful and difficult to rate this, as Haus has already released fragrances such as "X for Men | Clive Christian", "1872 Mandarin | Clive Christian", "Jump Up and Kiss Me Hedonistic | Clive Christian", "1872 for Men | Clive Christian" and other very beautiful fragrances... Fragrances from CC are always very good in terms of quality...

About the price and is the fragrance worth the price....?

It's really hard for me to say "yes man" or "100% no", because yes (!) it's already a hit (and now an important point), you can already notice the fine tuning, the high-quality aspect and you can already tell that it's the same with (most!) fragrances from the house - oh come on, let's add something better/more expensive... In general, you really have to say that the pure pricing of the brand is already sporty and this cannot be explained away or glossed over, it is a FACT.

But especially the "No. 1 for Men | Clive Christian" is, apart from the manufacturer's oils, the most expensive that they have in their portfolio and I'll put it this way... (personal opinion). The new price of 700€ is really expensive and I wouldn't buy it for that... but a used one... why not? - why not, as long as the "price" is ok.... it's an experience you should or could have had ;)

And about the batches:

The fragrance has been around for over 20 (!) years and a certain amount of major/small adjustments (or a few over the years) are somehow self-explanatory. The older batches you have/are allowed to test, the edgier, more consistent and spicier the fragrance becomes. More recent ones are more transparent, softer and easier to like. Both versions are ok and both have THEIR certain charm, but I (!) would rather spend the higher price on the old batches, because they seem more complex, of higher quality and noticeably more expensive. This doesn't mean that the old is worlds better than the new - I'm just saying!

To judge that for yourself, you would have to test an old one against a new one.

If I really wasn't convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!

(Now the same as almost always - because it's true!)

Now on the subject of luxury:

As you can see in my profile, among other things, I have really smelled many fragrances and there are fragrances where you smell a certain (partly) strong synthetic and you notice quite quickly that some fragrance houses go for quantity rather than quality and there are some where you just realize "oh come on, let's put more + better in" and you can smell this at the end of the day.

Very briefly on the subject of OVP, bottle, sprayer:

I'll make it short, I give it a 9 out of 10 in every category and I know very well that tastes are very different. So if you honestly rate this with a 7 or less... - PUH. Beautiful and very valuable lid, beautiful timeless flacon design etc. .... so I find it very difficult to rate it differently and I'm not saying this because I like a brand or not!

Now a brief word on the subject of my opinion:

I am not sponsored, influenced by anyone, receive money or anything else. I approach the subject of essencevitae as I am, honestly, everything else is not mine. My real personal opinion is worth a lot to me and maybe I hope ;) that you notice that. If I don't like something, e.g. OVP, bottle, sprayer or H/S, then I communicate this!

If it weren't for the little word if...
Hello everyone,

i would like to say something about "Fatima | Zimaya" at this late hour.

I am not a friend of fragrance houses that clone individual fragrances, this usually leads to the fact that I like to admonish those here and if a fragrance house then also quasi "copies" the bottle ... then it can only go wrong for the manufacturer/ or the fragrance house...

I'll say it briefly... - i find such behavior brazen and that's putting it nicely...

Nevertheless, I rate the fragrance an 8 across the board (except for the price) - why?

I would like to give 2 answers to this question.

On the one hand, there are people who unfortunately don't have the money (like others) and can or only want to buy cheap fragrances and this is perfectly ok (!) and I can understand everyone who thinks this way.
(It wouldn't be mine, but that's subjective or relative)

On the other hand, it is a very grateful fragrance that allows a lot of synthetics without being annoying. The pure implementation is well done in my opinion. It is NOT (!) a 1:1 copy because it is softer, creamier, more floral and gentler than the normal "Delina (Eau de Parfum) | Parfums de Marly"

Poorly made?
NO!
It is one of the very, very, very few (almost) DUPEs on the market. You can buy it, wear it, like it and you're done.

I always find the subject a bit difficult in general (DUPEs), but if it suits you, then there's nothing to be said against it!

Can you go wrong with the price?
The one who says yes - he's got one on the apple, quite honestly!

Tip on the side - men really like it (but sprayed discreetly).

I only realized your incredible potential 2 years later / lavender - cinnamon - tobacco - vanilla and this certain creaminess, does this sound familiar to you!
Hello everyone,

today there is a "small" review of "Manhattan (Eau de Parfum) | Roja Parfums" .

Yes, it took 2 years and several attempts ... with you (the fragrance).
The real spark didn't ignite back then and I can't even say exactly why it was like that, who knows. Nowadays I can say - luckily I have NEVER lost sight of it.

What do we have here?

To say this in a short sentence is really ultra difficult to hardly possible and probably doesn't do justice to the fragrance, but I'll give it a try (more or less). On the one hand, you really have to say that Roja's fragrances are very complex scents - they feel like they change every 10 minutes = new facets and accords come and go. In general, the "Manhattan (Eau de Parfum) | Roja Parfums" is a sweet, spicy, creamy, floral and in the drydown we have some woods and green notes.

Because of the second point of similarity:

The fragrance is OWN and not a copy of something else, certainly not! But you notice a certain influence or inspiration from 2 very well-known fragrances, the "Tobacco Vanille (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford" and the "Naxos | XerJoff" and I would like to say something about the "Naxos | XerJoff" and their similarities!

I have known the "Naxos | XerJoff" since 2015 (have an old one, among others) and I think I know it better than many others ;) . The fragrance notes such as lavender, cinnamon, tobacco, vanilla and this creamy one also have both and it is also noticeable (!), that's why I see this parallel. But in the end that's it, because the "Naxos | XerJoff" is a different LEAGUE as far as the H/S is concerned. But do you really always want this...?

On the subject of durability and sillage:

The sillage is really strong in the first 1, 2 hours and then it recedes noticeably in a bubble or scent cloud of around 1 meter, then it remains relatively calm until the end. On the subject of longevity, we're talking about 7 to 9 hours (easy to perceive), after which it becomes a "skin scent", but I think that's a good thing!

Why?

I have a lot of "breakers" and I simply can't wear those fragrances on certain occasions because they are too potent and too penetrating for most people. Many of us celebrate such things and to be honest I also like it when my fragrance is strong (making a statement, getting noticed etc.), but there are also moments such as in the car, train, plane etc. when you shouldn't wear something like "Alexandria II (Parfum) | XerJoff" from 2018, "Alexandria II Anniversary | XerJoff", a pre-order "Tony Iommi Monkey Special | XerJoff" etc., but something discreet, elegant and extremely chic.

Yes, it could sometimes have a little more POWER, but to all those I say, take "Molecule 01 | Escentric Molecules" and this "problem" has been satisfactorily solved.

Something else important!

I know there are a lot of people here for whom the factor "how my fragrance is received" is really very, very important. I would like to say 2 things to all of them. Firstly, a fragrance is a part of me/ a part of my character and I have never adorned myself with "other people's feathers" just to please the opposite sex "more", I see that critically, but that is a personal feeling.

On the other hand, I have smelled about 1000 fragrances in my life, but as far as the subject of pleasantness and how it is received is concerned, the "Manhattan (Eau de Parfum) | Roja Parfums" is one of the best and that with both sexes! It is almost frightening how well it is received. In terms of that alone - you have to try it!

And now, almost finally, to the point about the "dear price", let me put it this way: if we say we have a certain desire for luxury products / fragrance products in the niche sector, then I find it difficult or quite honestly almost pointless to chalk this up as something negative. Nobody is forcing us to spend this money. If you ask me now: Benny is it worth it? Then I say, if you want to spend it, test it and then buy it, but I recommend everyone to test it! You just have to experience it - the art of what is / can be possible.

OVP, bottle, sprayer or H/S, then I communicate this too!

You are trying to be something you are not or cannot be...!
Hello everyone,

today I would like to say something about "Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes (Eau de Parfum) | Zara".

We all know it's "supposed" to be a clone of "Imagination | Louis Vuitton", but is it?

I'll try to keep it short (!).

For one thing, we're talking about a clone house here. I find it uncreative and a pity that a house (whether Zara, DUA, Armaf and co.) only uses their potential to produce the best possible good clones on a synthetic basis for as little money as possible and thus take the success of the original product with them/jump on the bandwagon.

I find that kind of thing boring and well... you can guess!

And secondly, there are fragrance notes and accords that you can clone quite well and it's a bit more difficult even for experienced noses to smell them out. At the end of the day, there are heavier notes or fluffy ones such as vanilla, musk, oakmoss, woody accords.

But it is hellishly difficult to get citrusy, juicy notes, tea accords and a fresh floral note such as orange blossom authentic, not disturbing, annoying and co. so that they don't get on your nerves...

I'll say it openly and honestly..., the fragrance is ok but nothing more. The real "strengths" are in the drydown and "not" in the opening, because here you can already see ZARA's way of thinking - the main thing is cheap... in the end, that's just my way of thinking about it and that's what I wanted to give you along the way.

If you can survive the first 30 minutes (similar to DUA), certain fragrances (like this one) are ok!

BUT

There are also 2 camps of people and for those (!!!) I see the house as very good. On the one hand, there are those who are quite new to it, beginners so to speak, and I can recommend these fragrances to them, and on the other hand, there are people who are very reluctant to spend a lot of money on fragrances and that is also perfectly ok - why not ?!!
